This is our junior continuation course, for those who have previously completed Start Sailing 1 (or equivalent Tackers) either at Christies Sailing Club or elsewhere. This course is recommended for ages 8-15.
(If you have younger children then please contact the Principal on the email address below before booking this course. For teenagers 14-17 please contact for information about our OutThere programme. For 18+ years please view our Adult Start Sailing 2 course.)
Let our qualified and experienced instructors build on the skills that your budding young sailors already have to improve their confidence and sailing ability. Instruction will be in a mixture of Pacer class dinghies with an instructor on board or one of our modern O'pen Skiff class junior dinghies they can progress to, these boats are fast and fun to sail and provide a pathway into our weekly intermediate and advanced junior coaching program.
Christies Sailing Club is located on a beautiful stretch of coastline at Christies Beach Esplanade. We are a family friendly club with a thriving junior and adult membership, we are not just somewhere to learn to sail but a place to make friends and continue your sailing journey.
We provide the instructors, the boats, and the safety equipment, you just need to dress appropriately (advice will be given as part of the course) and have fun!
The cost of this course is $120 and includes the first year club membership for participants. Participant numbers are strictly limited so book early to avoid disappointment. Christies Sailing Club is a registered provider for the SA Government's Sports Vouchers programme for primary school aged children which if you are eligible will give you a $100 refund on this course.
If you are unable to attend all 8 sessions then please let us know, but you can still join the course as the training is flexible.
When registering please register using your junior sailor's name and your contact details.
[If the event shows as sold out then please contact principal.christiessailingclub@gmail.com to register interest and discuss options.]
